Counselor ▫︎ Guide ▫︎ Coach
The offer
Welcome! I'm Rob Blackledge, a licensed counselor, mentor, and teacher based in Brentwood, TN. I serve Nashville and surrounding areas like Franklin, Bellevue, Antioch, Smyrna, and East Nashville. I combine Jesus' teachings with the latest research in mental health to help with trauma, addiction, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, and the confusion that so often comes in life.
Why i am here
The twists and turns of my life have led me to this place. God has led me here to advocate for, love well, and walk with those who ask for help.
Mental health issues are real, and we need to learn how to use every resource available to not simply maintain our sanity, but to thrive.
God has created each of us to be exactly who we are and to do exactly what we are meant to do. If you don’t know who you are, or what you are meant to do, I would love to help you go on that journey.
The Process
Step 1: Realize your need, decide to not hide, and ask for help.
Ask for help. If you’re reading this, then you’ve come farther than most! You’ve realized that you need something you don’t have. And you are looking for it. Well done. You’re in good company.
Jesus walked with people. He lived with, moved with, ate with, laughed with, cried with, and died with people. He gave those who came looking what they were looking for.
Step 2: Tell the truth. Seek the truth. Hold the truth. Speak the truth. Hear the truth.
Jesus was the truth. He came to reveal the truth; the truth of who God is, and the truth of who we are.
Step 3: Repent and Create. What is your vision? Learn to listen to what God is saying to you.
Let’s explore the vision you have for your life. Let’s leave behind the old, and step into the new. Who has God made you to be? If you know what is most true about you, let’s create a plan for how you need to live out that truth. Repent = turn from the old. Create = move into the new
Step 4: Discipline. Make a decision.
In my story, discipline is the most overlooked step. I grew up believing if you did steps 1-3, then everything would just “fall into place”. Well… it didn’t. I mean, everything did fall, and I guess everything did find “a place”, but the place everything fell was a disaster. Walking with Jesus requires discipline. You must be “discipled”. We have to learn how to follow Jesus.
The Foundation
I desire for my work to be reflective of and based completely on what Jesus has called us to do: Go and make disciples. I believe that all of life centers around us either moving towards God or away from Him.
The Way
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.”
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
“Anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”
The Truth
“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth.”
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.”
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever - the Spirit of truth.”
“I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep.”
The Life
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
“The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life - only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord.”
“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.”
